Electric Providers

Electric service in Henry County is provided by Georgia Power Company and two Electric Membership Corporations (EMCs) – Central Georgia EMC and Snapping Shoals EMC. Large electricity users with connected load greater than 900 kW can choose their electric supplier for new facilities. Electric rates in Georgia are among the most competitive in the country.

Natural Gas

Georgia has undergone deregulation of the natural gas utility industry. Atlanta Gas Light Company continues to operate its pipeline systems in Henry County and throughout much of Georgia, but residential and commercial customers purchase natural gas from a variety of providers, or marketers. The marketers set their own prices and arrange for the sale and distribution of gas to their own customers; however, they use Atlanta Gas Light’s pipelines to deliver the gas.
